The Kingdom of Talossa was founded by R. Ben Madison on December 26th, 1979. At first, it was a single citizen micronation consisting solely of King Robert's bedroom.
With time, over 100 citizens had joined the Kingdom, even though rarely more than 20 to 30 citizens were active at any given time.
On June 1st, 2004, 11 of the 20 active citizens of the Kingdom of Talossa founded the Republic of Talossa, a democratic successor to the Kingdom of Talossa.
